Post-TB Sequelae Study: How the body heals after TB

This study looks at how the body recovers from tuberculosis (TB). It compares people who have had TB to those who have not, to understand long-term health effects. Participants will be asked to come for follow-up visits in Dhaka.

Who can take part

  • You have completed treatment for your first episode of TB in the lungs or the lining around the lungs.
  • You are age 6 months or older and live in Dhaka city.
  • You do not have TB in the brain, TB only outside the lungs, or drug-resistant TB.
  • You have not had TB or treatment for it in the last 6 months.
  • You do not smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day and do not have major heart or lung conditions.
  • You are not taking immune-suppressing medications or chemotherapy.
