Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older and having surgery that is not on your heart.
  • After surgery, you will stay in the recovery room and then at least one night in the hospital.
  • You will be breathing extra oxygen through a face mask in the recovery room.
  • Your oxygen levels will be checked continuously with a standard clip on your finger.
  • You do not need a breathing machine after surgery.
  • You are not having only numbing medicine (local anesthesia) or a surgery where you go home the same day.
