Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are currently using a breathing support device (mask or high-flow nasal prongs) in the hospital.
  • You do not have a long-term condition that causes high carbon dioxide levels in your blood.
  • You do not have a muscle or nerve disease that affects breathing.
  • You do not use a breathing machine at home (CPAP or BiPAP).
  • You do not have a breathing tube in your windpipe, a pacemaker, defibrillator, or burns where the chest monitor would be placed.
