Who can take part

  • You are currently in the hospital (either on a regular ward or in the ICU)
  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have low oxygen levels despite oxygen therapy (defined as a specific test ratio under 250)
  • You have not yet been placed on a breathing tube (intubated)
  • You do not have a 'do not intubate' order in your medical records
  • You do not have a tracheostomy tube in place
