Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have low blood oxygen levels (PaO₂/FiO₂ ≤ 300 or SpO₂/FiO₂ ≤ 315).
- You need one of these breathing supports: a face mask with positive pressure (PEEP ≥ 5 cmH₂O), high-flow nasal oxygen (≥ 30 L/min), or regular oxygen at a high flow (≥ 10 L/min).
- You have not been using a breathing mask (CPAP or noninvasive ventilation) for more than 24 hours.
- You are not on a breathing tube and do not have a chronic lung disease like COPD.
