Shorter Radiation for Intermediate-Risk Breast Cancer

This trial is testing a shorter course of radiation (called hypofractionated radiation) to the lymph nodes around the breast area after surgery for women with intermediate-risk breast cancer. The goal is to see if this approach works as well as standard radiation while possibly reducing side effects.

Who can take part
- You are 45 years old or older.
- You had surgery (breast-conserving or mastectomy) and lymph nodes removed from your armpit.
- The cancer was completely removed with clear margins after surgery.
- Your cancer spread to 1-3 lymph nodes (with at least one visible under microscope), and you have a low risk score (0-2) based on your age, tumor location, number of positive nodes, and other factors. OR, if you had chemotherapy before surgery, your lymph nodes are now cancer-free.
- You do not have cancer that has spread to distant organs, to the lymph nodes above your collarbone or inside your chest, or to the other breast.
- You have not had radiation to your chest area before, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
