  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled for brain surgery at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London.
  • During surgery, part of the outer brain layer will be removed or touched by a surgical tool or implant.
  • You can understand and read English well enough to give consent.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of surgery.
  • You are receiving care through the NHS.
