Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old, or you’re the parent/guardian for a child under 18 who can consent for them
  • Your doctors are planning brain surgery and consider you a candidate for implanting brain electrodes
  • Your epilepsy (or another brain/mental health condition) is not responding well to medication, or you otherwise need electrode implantation for treatment
  • You can understand and consent in English
  • You’ve been on the same medication doses for at least 1 month before surgery
  • You are approved for surgery by an ethics/medical committee
