Who can take part

  • You are 19 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled to receive a liver transplant.
  • You will be given either sevoflurane (a gas you breathe in) or propofol (a medicine given through an IV) for anesthesia.
  • You do not have hearing loss, serious memory problems, confusion, or trouble communicating.
  • You do not have a brain or nerve condition like a stroke, dementia, or Parkinson's disease.
