Who can take part

  • You are between 20 and 80 years old.
  • You are having planned (elective) partial liver surgery to remove hepatocellular carcinoma under general anesthesia.
  • Your overall health is in ASA class I to III (generally means you have mild to moderate health issues).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You do not have a severe mental disorder and you can complete the required study information before surgery.
  • You are not allergic to any anesthesia drugs used in the study and your surgery is not emergency or for a benign (non-cancer) liver tumor.
