Who can take part

  • You must be over 18 years old
  • You must be a new patient in the ICU and expected to stay at least 4 days
  • Your lower back skin (sacrum) must be healthy and free of wounds at the start
  • You must be able to sign a consent form
  • You cannot be pregnant or have scarring, burns, or tumors on your lower back
