Who can take part

  • Your baby is 44 weeks old or younger (corrected age).
  • Your baby weighs at least 1500 grams (about 3.3 pounds).
  • Your baby already has an arterial line placed for routine blood gas tests as part of normal care.
  • Your baby does not have severe skin issues or other problems at the sensor placement site.
  • Your baby is not on a cooling therapy or a heart-lung bypass machine (ECMO).
  • Your baby is stable enough to participate, as judged by the care team.
