Who can take part

  • Your baby is in the neonatal ICU (special nursery for sick newborns).
  • Your baby has two separate oxygen monitors (pulse oximeters) working at the same time.
  • The researchers can take a photo of both monitors during a calm, routine moment (not during an emergency or when something seems wrong).
  • Your baby does not have a 'shunt' that affects blood flow from the heart to the body.
  • Both oxygen monitors show a reading between 70% and 100% (they are working correctly).
