  • You are between 8 and 21 years old.
  • You have sickle cell disease and are having a severe pain episode that needs hospital care.
  • You are able to use a VR headset and answer questions (no major learning or thinking problems).
  • You or your parent/guardian agrees to join the study.
  • You haven't been in this study before.
  • The study team can start VR sessions within the first 24 hours of your hospital stay.
