Who can take part
- You are 19 years or older
- You have been diagnosed with liver cancer (HCC), either by biopsy or by standard imaging tests
- Your liver cancer cannot be removed with surgery and is more advanced than the 'up-to-7' rule (the size of the biggest tumor in centimeters plus the number of tumors totals more than 7)
- All your tumors are in 1 to 5 nearby segments of the liver (this is called localized disease)
- You have no other active cancer in the part of the liver that won't be treated
- Your liver function is good (Child-Pugh class A) and you are able to care for yourself (ECOG score 0 or 1)
- Your blood tests show your major organs are working well enough (within specific limits for white blood cells, red blood cells, liver enzymes, and kidney function)
