- Heart imaging (echo or MRI) shows a wall thickness of 15 mm or more (or 13 mm or more if you have a gene mutation or family history of HCM).
- Your doctor has ruled out other causes of heart thickening, like high blood pressure, valve problems, or storage diseases.
- You are expected to live at least 1 year and have no other life-threatening conditions like severe infections, liver failure, or kidney failure.
