  • Had a cardiac arrest outside the hospital
  • Age between 18 and 75 years old
  • Heart rhythm was either ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia without a pulse, or pulseless electrical activity
  • Arrived at the hospital within 1 hour of the emergency call or when the arrest was seen
  • Heart-lung support (ECMO) was started within 1 hour of arriving at the hospital
