Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 84 years old.
  • You were resuscitated after a cardiac arrest, either in or out of the hospital.
  • It took less than 60 minutes to restart your heart.
  • You are still unconscious and cannot follow commands after your heart restarted.
  • The treatment must be able to start within 2 hours of your heart restarting.
  • You must have a breathing tube that is 7.0 to 9.0 millimeters in size.
