Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • Your heel bone (calcaneus) fracture must be a certain type that involves the joint and happened less than 15 days ago.
  • You must be able to have regional anesthesia (numbing only part of your body).
  • You must be able to follow a rehab program after surgery or casting.
  • You cannot have other serious fractures in your leg, thigh, or pelvis, or a spinal cord injury.
