This study compares a new digital way of making a custom mouth splint to the traditional method for people with jaw pain (temporomandibular disorder, or TMD). It looks at how the splint affects teeth wear and bite balance. If you have TMD and are between 18–40 with all your natural teeth, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 40 years old.
  • You have all your natural teeth and no missing teeth.
  • You are not currently having braces, dentures, or other dental work.
  • You have no recent injury to your face, head, or neck.
  • You can open your mouth at least three fingers wide.
  • You do not have severe gum disease (periodontitis) or other jaw problems.
