  • Your child is under 2 years old.
  • Your child is having surgery to fix a congenital heart defect (a heart problem they were born with).
  • You agree to let your child take part in the study.
  • Your child's surgery risk is category 1 or 2 on the RACHS-1 scale (a way to measure risk in heart surgery).
  • Your child does not have any other major health conditions.
