Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition that causes low platelet counts.
- You have tried a steroid treatment (like prednisone) and it didn't work well enough or the disease came back.
- You must have normal blood clotting tests and no other bleeding disorders.
- Your blood counts (white blood cells and hemoglobin) and liver/kidney function must be within certain safe limits.
- You must not have had certain other treatments for ITP within the past 28 days, such as IVIG, other platelet boosters, or immunosuppressants.
