  • You are 18 to 70 years old.
  • You have a skull defect from a previous brain surgery (from injury, high pressure, or a birth condition).
  • You do not have an active infection right now.
  • You do not have a weakened immune system (from HIV, chemotherapy, or long-term steroids).
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant in the next 2 years.
  • You are expected to live at least 1 more year.
