Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx (voice box) or hypopharynx (lower throat).
- Your cancer has come back or a new cancer has developed in the same area after you completed initial treatment.
- It has been at least 6 months since you finished any chemotherapy that contained platinum.
- You are able to receive cisplatin (a type of chemotherapy) safely.
- You are 18 years or older and in good daily health (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- You agree to use effective birth control during the study and for 6 months after the last treatment.
