Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have alopecia areata (not another cause of hair loss) that started within the last 3 months and is currently active, meaning at least 30% of your scalp is affected and hair falls out easily when gently pulled.
  • You have not taken a JAK inhibitor (like baricitinib) before for hair loss that didn't work.
  • You do not have an active infection (like tuberculosis, hepatitis B or C, or HIV) or have had shingles in the last 12 weeks.
  • You have not used steroid injections in your scalp for alopecia areata in the last 4 weeks, and you are not currently using strong steroids or other immune-suppressing medications for other conditions.
