Sealants and Laser to Prevent Cavities in MIH-Affected Molars

Molar Incisor Hypomineralization

Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 6 and 9 years old.
  • At least one permanent back tooth (molar) must have MIH (a condition that weakens enamel).
  • That tooth must not have any broken-down areas (post-eruptive breakdown) yet.
  • The tooth should have only small or no cavities (ICDAS scores 0, 1, or 2).
  • Your child must be in good general health (no major medical conditions).
  • The tooth must not have a large cavity, a defective filling, deep damage needing a filling, or signs of infection.
