Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 6 and 12 years old.
  • Your child must have at least two fully grown first permanent molars.
  • Those molars must have been diagnosed with molar incisor hypomineralization (weak or chalky enamel) by a dentist following standard guidelines.
  • The enamel defects should be in the early stages.
  • Your child cannot be in braces or other orthodontic treatment.
  • Your child must be able to cooperate during dental procedures.
  • The affected teeth must not have large cavities, existing fillings, fluorosis (too much fluoride staining), or enamel problems caused by a genetic syndrome.
  • The affected teeth must not have any signs of nerve damage (pulp symptoms).
