Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for an upper endoscopy (EGD) for Barrett's esophagus.
  • You have Barrett's esophagus that is at least 1 cm long.
  • You are willing to swallow a capsule attached to a string before your endoscopy.
  • You have not had any prior treatment for Barrett's esophagus (such as endoscopic removal).
  • You can swallow a pill about the size of a large vitamin capsule.
