  • You have a herniated disc or spinal stenosis confirmed by an MRI
  • You are being seen at University Hospital of North Norway in Tromsø for possible surgery
  • You are 18 years or older
  • You can speak and read Norwegian
  • You do not have serious drug abuse or severe psychiatric disorders
  • Your baseline Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) score is above 14 (for herniated disc) or above 22 (for spinal stenosis)
