Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with OCD for at least 5 years and your symptoms are severe (score above 28 on a standard OCD scale).
- You have tried at least 3 different antidepressants and at least 2 other medications (like antipsychotics or mood stabilizers) at adequate doses for over a month each.
- You have completed at least 20 sessions of cognitive-behavioral therapy that included exposure and response prevention.
- Your OCD medications (antidepressants and other prescribed drugs) have not changed in type or dose for 30 days before the study starts.
- You are able to communicate during the procedure, can press a stop button if needed, and do not require general anesthesia.
- You do not have major health issues like bleeding disorders, severe heart problems, or past stroke, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
