Who can take part
- You are having orthopedic surgery (bone or joint surgery) with spinal anesthesia.
- You are in good general health (ASA score of 2 or less).
- You do not have a history of heart rhythm problems or recent heart attack.
- You do not have a history of major injuries (polytrauma).
- You do not have bleeding problems, low platelets, or allergy to numbing medicine.
- You are not currently taking steroids or certain antidepressants (SSRIs).
