Who can take part

  • Girls who started showing breast development between 8 and 9 years old
  • Breast stage 2 with a small breast bud (less than 3 cm across)
  • One or both ovaries are slightly larger or have a small follicle on ultrasound
  • Bone age is not more than 1 year ahead of their actual age
  • A hormonal test (LHRH stimulation) shows certain levels suggesting puberty has started
  • Willing to follow the study plan and have a parent sign a permission form
