- You are scheduled for a total knee replacement (TKA).
- You can understand and speak English well enough to fill out questionnaires.
- Your doctor has cleared you to take part in the study.
- You can walk at least 100 feet (about the length of a basketball court) without a walker, cane, or needing to rest.
- You have not had two or more falls in the past year.
- You do not have any serious health problems that would affect your leg function, such as a stroke, nerve or muscle disease, or an amputation.
