Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You are scheduled for a liver resection (hepatectomy) surgery.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 30.
- The surgical cut will not extend beyond the upper belly area (not reach lower back or below the ribs).
- Surgery is expected to last 5 hours or less, and no other organ will be removed at the same time.
- No allergy to numbing medicines (local anesthetics), no bleeding problems (INR ≤ 1.4), and no infection at the injection site.
