Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have cancer and are scheduled for a hepatectomy (liver surgery to remove a tumor).
  • Your general health is rated as ASA II or III (mild to severe but stable disease).
  • Your weight gives a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 20 and 35.
  • You do not have heart failure, chronic kidney disease, or need dialysis.
  • You do not have a history of psychiatric disorders or major depression.
