Sarcopenic obesity in COPD: a prevalence study
Part of Lungs & breathing clinical trials.
This study looks at how common it is to have both COPD (a chronic lung disease) and sarcopenic obesity (loss of muscle with excess body fat). By joining, you'll help doctors understand this condition better and may get a full health check-up.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.

This study looks at the link between muscle loss (sarcopenia) and obesity in older adults. It aims to understand why some older people who are overweight or obese also lose muscle strength and function, and how this affects recovery after hip surgery.
This study compares how obesity impacts physical abilities and everyday activities in people over 65. Researchers will measure strength, movement, and how well people manage daily tasks to better understand obesity's effects on aging.
This study tests whether a protein intervention can help women over 55 with COPD who also have muscle loss and obesity. It aims to improve their strength and health.
This study tests a new clinic designed to help people with COPD who have lost muscle mass (sarcopenia). By using a CT scan done during your hospital stay, doctors can identify muscle loss and offer treatments to help you regain strength and function.
This trial studies how having both low muscle mass and obesity might affect sleep quality in people with obesity hypoventilation syndrome. It aims to better understand sleep issues in this condition.
This study looks at people with COPD or ILD who also show signs of frailty. It aims to understand how frailty and muscle loss (sarcopenia) affect their care and use of medical resources over time.
