This study tests if starting treatment for uncomplicated bone or joint infections in children with oral (by mouth) antibiotics is effective. Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 3 months and 17 years old.
  • Your child must have a bone or joint infection that is considered uncomplicated (not severe).
  • Your child should not have any risk factors for complicated disease, such as severe illness, rapid worsening, severe pain, large swelling, infection from surgery or a foreign object, infection with a rare or resistant germ, or a serious immune problem.
  • Your child can start oral antibiotics either without any IV antibiotics or after receiving IV antibiotics for less than 24 hours.
