Who can take part

  • Your child is between 1 and 18 years old
  • The bone or joint infection is acute, uncomplicated, and started outside the hospital
  • The infection is not caused by bacteria resistant to cephalexin, and it is not an atypical infection (like fungal or mycobacterial)
  • Your child does not have signs of severe body-wide illness from infection (sepsis) or organ problems
  • Your child has no severe complications like necrotizing fasciitis or other hard-to-treat conditions
