Fasting during Ramadan for adrenal insufficiency patients

Secondary Adrenal InsufficiencyHypotension

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study looks at how fasting during Ramadan affects people with secondary adrenal insufficiency (a condition where the body doesn't make enough cortisol) and who already take daily steroid medication. It compares blood pressure and how they feel during the fast.

Risks of Ramadan fasting in adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease)

This study checks the safety of fasting during Ramadan for people with primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease) who take replacement hormones like prednisolone. It aims to see if fasting is safe in this condition.

Hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone for critical illness hormone shortage

This Phase 3 trial tests whether giving hydrocortisone plus fludrocortisone to critically ill ICU patients with suspected “corticosteroid insufficiency” can improve outcomes without relying on steroids already being used. It may help patients whose bodies aren’t making enough stress hormones during severe illness.

Hydrocortisone added during stress in people on low-dose prednisolone

Fasting effects on cell energy and repair during Ramadan

This study compares how two types of fasting—traditional Ramadan dry fasting and a 16-hour daily fasting schedule—affect how your cells manage energy and repair themselves. Researchers want to understand if fasting triggers beneficial cleanup processes in your cells.

Steroid therapy and kidney function after adrenal surgery

This study tests whether a steroid medication (hydrocortisone) after adrenal gland surgery helps protect kidney function in patients with primary aldosteronism and mild-to-moderate kidney disease. Researchers want to see if the steroid reduces further kidney damage.
