Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 85 years old
- You have been diagnosed with prostate cancer (not the small cell type)
- Your cancer has spread to 5 or fewer spots in your bones or lymph nodes, or is a locally advanced stage (T3 or T4)
- You are able to do light activities (ECOG score 0 or 1)
- You have not had any previous prostate cancer treatment like radiation, chemotherapy, or hormone therapy
- You are willing to have your prostate removed (radical prostatectomy) as part of the study
