Who can take part

  • You are between 6 and 18 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) for at least 3 months.
  • Steroid treatment did not work well enough for you.
  • Your platelet count is below 30,000 on two tests at least a week apart.
  • You are not currently taking certain other ITP treatments (like rituximab or cyclophosphamide) or have stopped them long enough.
  • You do not have any serious infections, bleeding, or other major health problems.
