- You are 18 years or older
- You are visiting the emergency department at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bayview Medical Center, or Howard County General Hospital
- You have a blood test to measure your kidney function (serum creatinine) during the ER visit
- You must have a follow-up blood test within 72 hours to check if kidney function changes
- You do not have end-stage kidney disease or need chronic dialysis
