Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are visiting the emergency department at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bayview Medical Center, or Howard County General Hospital
  • You have a blood test to measure your kidney function (serum creatinine) during the ER visit
  • You must have a follow-up blood test within 72 hours to check if kidney function changes
  • You do not have end-stage kidney disease or need chronic dialysis
