Who can take part

  • You are 40 years of age or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease by a movement disorder specialist.
  • Your Parkinson's symptoms are not caused by another condition such as infection, medication, poisoning, or head injury.
  • You do not have another brain disease like multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, or dementia with Lewy bodies.
  • You did not have significant memory or thinking problems before your Parkinson's started, and you have no major brain lesions on MRI.
  • You are not taking certain medications that affect homocysteine levels (like some seizure or cancer drugs) and you do not have thyroid or kidney problems.
