Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- You were recently in the hospital for sudden complications of cirrhosis (such as fluid in the belly, confusion, bleeding from the esophagus, or infection).
- You are now recovering and expected to be discharged in the next 2 days.
- You do not have an active cancer other than certain small liver cancers or minor skin cancers.
- You have not had a liver transplant or a shunt placed between your portal vein and another vein.
