Who can take part

  • You have prostate cancer that was confirmed by biopsy in the last 6 months.
  • Your cancer is an 'unfavorable intermediate-risk' type (your doctor can tell you this based on your PSA, Gleason score, and tumor stage).
  • Scans (CT and bone scan) show the cancer has not spread to other parts of your body or to lymph nodes in the abdomen or pelvis.
  • You have not had chemotherapy for prostate cancer before.
  • You are in good overall health (ECOG score 0 or 1) and your blood counts and kidney function are within normal limits.
  • Your prostate is not too large (75 cc or smaller on imaging).
