EMIRATES: Observing low-risk thyroid cancer without completion surgery

Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (DTC)

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a low-risk, well-differentiated thyroid cancer (papillary or follicular type), 1–4 cm in size
  • Your cancer was confirmed by a needle biopsy (Thy5 grade) or after removal of one side of your thyroid
  • You are able to communicate in spoken and written English
  • You do not have high-risk features like aggressive cell types, spread beyond the thyroid, lymph node involvement, or metastases

Preventive neck lymph node removal in low-risk thyroid cancer
