Who can take part

  • You have a cavity on the side of a back tooth that hasn't been filled before.
  • The tooth is healthy (alive, no pain, no infection).
  • You are not pregnant and can have X-rays taken.
  • You are not allergic to dental materials or numbing medicine.
  • You are willing to come to appointments for 18 months.
  • You are generally healthy enough to attend regular dental visits.
