Who can take part
- You have advanced liver cancer (stage C or stage B that can't be treated with other local methods).
- You have not had any prior systemic (whole-body) cancer treatment for your liver cancer.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a CT or MRI scan.
- Your liver function is fairly good (Child-Pugh score 5-7, meaning mild to moderate liver disease).
- If you have chronic hepatitis B, your virus level must be low (less than 100 IU/mL) and you must be on antiviral medication.
- Your blood counts, kidney function, and liver enzymes are within acceptable ranges.
