Surgery for thigh bone cancer: reconstruction vs. repair

  • You have cancer that has spread to the top part of your thigh bone
  • The affected bone area is expected to survive at least 6 more months
  • The bone loss in that area is between 25% and 75%
  • You and your doctor have agreed that surgery is the best option
  • You are not at high risk for complications or death from the surgery
