Who can take part

  • You had a stroke and have some weakness or difficulty moving one arm or hand, but can still use it a little.
  • You have mild to moderate pain in the shoulder or arm that is not too severe (pain level 2–6 on a 0–10 scale).
  • You are 18 years or older and can understand and communicate in English with the research team.
  • You can walk without help for at least 10 meters (about 30 feet) and are not currently in another research study.
  • You do not have a medical condition that would make it unsafe or hard to take part (like a pacemaker, severe vision or hearing problems, or uncontrolled seizures).
